Nurturing Birth Mentors
For any doula at any stage of the doula journey we want to nurture you and give you a safe space in which to be heard, supported and affirmed.
On-going mentoring is beneficial to anyone working as a doula. Just as we support families, we too need to be supported ourselves.
Mentoring is about creating a trusted relationship with someone who has already ‘walked the path’. It is a valuable space to reflect and review where we have come from, where we are now and where we hope to be.
Our mentoring has been developed to give doulas the opportunity to expand, develop and gain confidence.
How Nurturing Birth mentoring works
When you sign up to any doula training course with us, some free mentoring is included. You will be supported to choose a mentor from our team, which is made up of carefully selected, experienced doulas. Our mentors have all been trained and undergo regular mentoring themselves.
Each mentoring session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and doulas are usually asked to submit a form to their chosen mentor in advance of the session so that the mentor can prepare. mentoring sessions take place on Zoom unless otherwise agreed with your mentor.
Continued mentoring.
We recommend that all doulas incorporate regular mentoring as part of their professional development. Quarterly sessions are encouraged, but mentors can offer more frequent sessions if needed, depending on your journey and professional goals. Our mentoring is open to all doulas, regardless of their course provider.
Mentoring costs £75 per session (£65 if you are a Nurturing Birth doula).
Payment is made direct to the mentor of your choice prior to your session.
