Over the years I have had many jobs, from performer, shop assistant, office clerk, peripatetic teacher, to primary school teaching & childminding; but after starting my family in 2009, I began to become aware of the world of birth & parenting and how important it can be to find a community of people who are like you.

In the years to follow, I had two more children, trained as a Babywearing Peer Supporter, then Consultant, bought a Sling Swing Franchise (babywearing dance classes) and then trained to become a Breastfeeding Network Peer Supporter. Finally, with the encouragement and support of a good friend (who became my first doula client) I completed my intensive training with Nurturing Birth in November 2018 and havenā€™t looked back since ā€“ I have found my people, my purpose and my pleasure. As a Neurodivergent 40-something, I feel like itā€™s finally safe to say that Iā€™ve found my calling!

My ā€œspecial interestsā€ include Birth, Lactation, & Support (handy, hey!) So whether Iā€™m supporting my friends and family, my own clients, other parents or other doulas, thatā€™s what helps me feel like Iā€™m making a positive contribution in the world.

Learning is life-long, mentoring is a way to help keep us accountable, reflective and open to ā€˜doing the workā€™, so that we can continue to grow and develop, learning from one another and the experiences we share. As your mentor I aim to hold a safe space, as well as a listening ear ā€“ to be your guide, your cheerleader, the voice of reason, and to support you on your unique journey to becoming the best doula you can be!
