I’m Carole, a birth and postnatal doula living on the East Sussex/Kent border.

 

After a successful career in retail, I hit 40 and decided that I wanted to do something different with my working life and pursue my passion for supporting Mums and families. It felt very much like a ‘now or never’ moment, so I took the plunge, training with Nurturing Birth in 2017 and have been working as a birth and postnatal doula ever since.

 

As someone completely new to the world of doulaing and self employment, I was starting from scratch. It was challenging and sometimes intimidating, but also incredibly rewarding, and step by step I surprised myself by learning and embracing many new skills.

 

Throughout this I have had the support of some wonderful mentors and have found the mentoring experience invaluable. Now, I want to be that for others. To listen and provide compassionate, non judgemental, emotional and practical support to help you grow in confidence and achieve your goals.

 

As a mum to my teenage and young adults, my life outside of doulaing mainly consists of chauffeuring (often last minute, and to unknown destinations!), snack procurement, and returning online orders. Occasionally I can also be found walking our lovely dog and wobbling my way through the odd yoga session!
