What is it like attending The Doula Course…?

What can you expect…?

Attending a Nurturing Birth course is more than just training - it’s an immersive journey into the heart of what it means to be a doula.

We create a warm, supportive environment where you can feel completely at ease as you grow in both skills and confidence.

For our in-person courses, we choose homely, comfortable spaces where you can truly relax - so you can feel free to bring your slippers and curl up on the sofa while we dive into each topic!

Naturally, there’s always plenty of tea and biscuits to keep you fuelled throughout the day and during the lunch break you’ll often find participants eating and chatting together at the table or heading out for a walk and talk together.

If you’re joining us online, we work hard to foster that same sense of warmth and safety, creating an inviting space where every participant feels valued and heard. After each session we leave the zoom room open for chat and connection too.

It is usual for each cohort to stay connected long after each course too. Some chat regularly in their WhatsApp groups and others even arrange a monthly zoom chat of their own. Connection is so important in the doula world and it starts here.

Throughout the course:

• You’ll gain insight into how to connect meaningfully with each client, even in challenging situations.
• We’ll encourage you to explore your unique strengths and perspectives, inviting you to reflect on the qualities you can bring to every family you support.
